Cookie Policy

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. This policy also covers your browser's local storage and session storage, which work in a similar way.

2. Essential cookies

These files are essential for the site to work, and no consent is required for them.

bookup.sid: BOOKUP. Account sign-in session. Duration: 30 days from the last activity.

bookup.locale: BOOKUP. Remembers the interface language. Duration: 1 year.

bookup.locale.visit: BOOKUP. For a signed-in user, remembers the language chosen with the language switcher for the current visit. It holds an irreversibly encrypted mark of the sign-in session, not the session itself. Duration: until the browser is closed; it no longer applies after the next sign-in.

bookup_cookie_consent: BOOKUP. Remembers your answer about analytics cookies. Duration: 180 days.

bookup.installPromptDismissed (local storage): BOOKUP. Remembers that you closed the app installation prompt. Duration: until browser data is cleared.

bookup.langSuggestDismissed (local storage): BOOKUP. Remembers that you closed the bar offering this page in another language. Duration: until browser data is cleared.

bookup.sidebar (local storage): BOOKUP. Remembers whether the side menu of the Host dashboard is collapsed. Duration: until browser data is cleared.

bookup.kaIntlReloaded (session storage): BOOKUP. Prevents repeated reloading of the page while Georgian date and currency formats load. Duration: until the tab is closed.

bookup:booked:[booking ID] (session storage): BOOKUP. After a booking request, shows the Host's response deadline once on the next page, and is then deleted. Duration: until it is read once, and at most until the tab is closed.

bookup-shell-v1 (browser cache): BOOKUP. Stores the site's core files for faster loading. Duration: until the site is updated.

Cloudflare Turnstile: Cloudflare. Bot protection on the registration, booking and password recovery forms. Duration: according to Cloudflare's policy.

3. Analytics cookies

These files are stored only after you give consent. Through Google Analytics we learn how visitors use the site and which advertising campaigns they came from, and we use this information to improve the site.

_ga: Google. Distinguishes visitors from one another. Duration: 2 years.

_ga_[ID]: Google. Stores the session state. Duration: 2 years.

bookup.utm (session storage): BOOKUP. Keeps the advertising campaign tags (utm_ parameters) you arrived with, so that a registration can be attributed to the campaign in Google Analytics, and so that the tags can be kept as the account's registration source (see 2.2 of the Privacy Policy). Stored only after you consent to analytics. Duration: until the tab is closed.

4. Managing consent

On your first visit to the site, a window will appear where you can give or refuse consent to analytics cookies. Refusing is as easy as consenting. You can change your decision at any time via the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of the site.

You can also delete cookies in your browser settings. If essential cookies are deleted, you will be signed out of your account.

5. Content from other sites

Photos and logos uploaded by Hosts are stored on cdn.bookup.ge, BOOKUP's storage at Cloudflare R2. A Host may also use a link to an image on another site. Such sites may use their own cookies, to which this policy does not apply.
